The cottage is set in an idyllic surrounding close to the coastal path, perfect for a base to explore the natural beauty of the Pembrokeshire coastline and sets the mood for a relaxing holiday.
The property is of a high standard with a homely feel. It is spacious and boasts a fully equipped kitchen/diner, comfortable lounge, drying room/shower room, separate bathroom, 4 ample sized bedrooms and has an outdoor area for those who prefer to dine alfresco.
The owners, Dawn and Ian are very friendly, helpful with local knowledge and live in a farmhouse on site. Dawn is a keen photographer and has a wonderful collection of her work for sale.
The nearby harbour in Porthgain boasts a pub (Sloop Inn) full of character that also has an excellent menu. In addition the Shed restaurant offers a wonderful menu of locally caught fish.
The Pembrokeshire beaches are plentiful in this area many having blue flag status. There are opportunities for coasteering at the Blue Lagoon (approx 30mins walk from cottage). Cliff top walks allow you to take in the stunning sea views and surrounding countryside and often descend into villages with beautiful pastel coloured houses.
Staying here was a memorable experience for all the family for which we will treasure for years to come.

This is a special place. We havecome every year for a week in August for 10 years and have never had anything other than a wonderful holiday. We come with another family and we usually stay in Grassholm or Ramsey and they take Caldey so we have our own space but can BBQ etc together. The cottages are warm welcoming (fresh flowers & wine) well equipped (cot and high chair f.o.c dvds). Well designed and perfect for a family with three boys. This year we had four teenage boys plus a 13 month old baby and there was loads of room for everyone & Dawn made sure everything was neat as a pin & perfectly organised and ready for us even earlier than usual.
The things that really work for us :the weather (it is mysteriously always a bit better than elsewhere) no need for a car,there is a beautiful quiet beach a 12 min walk away and you can walk to The Sloop and the Shed at Porthgain. Plus Tesco's deliver, Ynys Barry is right next to the coastal path, and St Davids is a 7 mile walk along stunning scenery.Taps and hoses are provided to wash down sandy and salty kids and their wet suits. Black board with daily tide details.And then there are those special extras twice we have surfed with seals at the local beach (never quite managed to pronouce it but its called Traethllyfn). Barn owls nesting in the farm buildings and listening to the chicks at dusk as the parents deliver the catch of the day. The go-cart Ian has made for the kids to play with. Alfie the dog (boys belive he remembers them each year) Barbequing on the beach and not sharing the sunset with anyone. The night sky and finally managing to jump off the top ledge at the Blue Lagoon after 10 years of trying.
It just doesn't get any better!
A wonderfully rugged and unspoiled corner of Wales, big skies and breathtaking coastal scenery. Thanks for a great week in Barri Cottage and for the extra nights in the lodge because our week was over far too quickly! Thanks Dawn and Ian for making our stay relaxed and uncomplicated, love to Smudge and Alfie!
Had a lovely stay at Ynys Barry the cottage was fantastic and very romantic. Treathllyfn has got to be the best beach in Pembrokeshire! A very memorable place
And we will be back in the summer to do it all over again and more.

We absolutley love this place its an amazing place to go no matter what the weather, the people here are so friendly. and are very accommodating. Their premises are very homely and well worth the money spent. The area is ideal for walking .... we walked for miles ...something new every time we go... we love coming back year after year.
